The repitilian part of your is interested in the quickness of the fast moving images. The limbic part of brain pays attention to the music(which to many is creepy, including myself, the uniformness of the people, and the chase of the person. The neocortex is appealed to when you begin to think of what Apple is trying to say the Mac is not.

1.Symbols:As seen in the commerical, the main symbols is 1984, a novel known for its portrayal of government surveillence and control and the government's trepassing on an individual's rights and the introduction of the Apple Mac.

2.Humor: The video is a way funny(at least in my opinion) because it has a random lady running with a huge hammer who throws it towards the big screen, breaking the source of oppression(Tell people to prepare for new!)

3.Plain Folks:The media uses uniformed people and security officers to tell the story.

4.Bandwagon: The media is trying to convince me that the Apple Mac will not be like 1984 but a breakthrough instead.

5.Testimonial:1984 is worldwide classic and on the top 100 books of all time and is familiar many avid readers and a requirement for those in many high schools.

I might put a more recent video later on just for fun, but this is what came into mind.

OUR MINDS

This clip is from one of my favorite animes. It's very limbic with it's emotional music, sounds of laughter, and images of happiness. All these tools are used to draw the viewer into the anime through their emotions, and also as stress relief from the moment of seriousness(if you see the whole episode). Even from someone who doesn't watch the anime, the music alone can appeal to someone's feelings.

What do you think?

Here are the lyrics:

Yume wo tsubomi hiragu mabushii sora wo aogi mune paii hirogaru yasashii kaori kikoeru wa koi no rizumu kisetsu koe ai ni kitene daisuki darou sasaya itara sekaijuu ni kikoe chau kana hazuka shikute usubu miteta watashi no te wo tori hayashii desu

English translation

The flower bud of dreams blossoms in the blue dazzling sky. The tender fragrance spreads throughout my chest. I can hear it.. the rhythm of love skipping all the seasons just to see you. Whispering that I love you. Throughout the whole world
they can hear it. Being shy, you looked down. Catching my eye and taking that step.

Hello

Hello,
My name is Michelle and I'm 15 years old. Many people tell I'm very shy and quiet, but I believe I'm very observant. I go to Nova High school in Davie,Fl and am in the 10th grade. I'm in a lot of extracurricular activities, such as Environmental Club and Drama Club. I hold positions in two clubs: Relay for life-publicity officer and Book Club - Vice President. I also do swimming and water polo in school. I volunteer at an animal shelter during the summer or when I have free time. I am also a threadbanger and am learning how to sew. I also a have a love for for Japanese culture, from anime to the lolita fashion to BJDs(Ball-jointed dolls). My life goal is to be able to help others whether human or animals. I am studying many difficult subjects(including online classes like Chinese) with this goal in mind and in to hope to become a marine mammal vet. I also have a passion for sewing and BJDs.

I am currently playing Sonic Unleashed for PS3 and Animal Crossing: City Folk for Wii. Sonic Unleashed isn't the best game ,but it's full of plenty fun running and actiony moments. Animal Crossing is quite a different game compared to Sonic Unleashed, because of its relaxing pace. Animal Crossing is fun for playing another a different way of life. It sometimes hard to pick between the two when I have time to relax.

My favorite media experience I have is threadbanger.com. It's a websites which teaches others how to sew through reuse of material. It's really meaningful for me because I always have wanted to learn sew since I was little. I also like that it teaches you how to reuse material so we learn to express ourselves better, be able to afford it, and not take up more space in our landfills. The people on website's forum are very help as are the people who run the website.

I've noticed lack of effort in people helping out in the community. Some people showed interest but were intimated by older students or the people show any interest at all. I have join some of these clubs myself(such as relay for life) and proud to see more freshman joining clubs. I like to be able to promote interest through media.

I hope to contribute to DOTCOM program workshop with my experience of my numerous clubs. My numerous experiences can help me see things from different points of view. I believe this can help understand and empathize others points. I also have a lot of patience when listening to others. So when I need to make decision, I hopely will prove to be less basis.
